Is there really much to think about other than looks when selecting a toilet for a bathroom remodel? Surprisingly, there are a lot of options to consider when selecting a toilet for a bathroom remodel. Configuration, size, height, style, and technology are just a few.

What is a Rough-In?
The rough-in distance is simply the distance from the outer wall to the center of the sewer drain for the toilet. The standard rough-in size is 12 inches. You will find that most manufacturers make all their styles in this size. At other rough-in sizes, your choices will be more limited.

Toilet Configuration/Style
Toilets come in one-piece, two-piece and wall-mounted or recessed. The two-piece toilets are typically the most affordable. The tank and the bowl are purchased separately and the tank bolts to the top of the bowl. The one-piece toilet has a more finished look but can be more expensive and can require some help to install because they are heavier. Wall mounted or recessed toilets are nice for small bathrooms or powder rooms but require a deeper wall to hold the tank and an additional commitment monetary commitment to install and finish the wall space. In addition, should something go wrong with the toilet, the wall might have to be reopened to perform maintenance.

Toilet bowls come in elongated and round shapes. Elongated shaped toilets are more the norm these days but round bowls can save 3-4 inches of space in a small bathroom or powder room.

Comfort
No two people are alike. That's why Jacuzzi developed PerfectHeight™ - toilets elevated to create a comfortable, chair-like seated position and sinks slightly raised so you don't have to bend down.

A Good Flush
A toilet might look nice - but if it doesn't flush well - it is fairly useless. Flushing technologies have come a long way with the low-flow 1.6 gallon toilet systems that are now required. The angle of the toilet and jet action can make the difference between a two-flush toilet and a single-flush toilet. Those extra flushes can increase a water bill by hundreds of dollars. Jacuzzi's PowerFlo™ flushing system features siphon jets that are angled for superior bowl cleaning and flushing action as well as a large water surface and 2" fully-glazed trapway to encourage flow and eliminate clogging. In addition, consider the noise that a flushing toilet makes. Jacuzzi's PowerFlo™ Quiet is a vacuum-assisted flushing system that is a tank-within-a-tank

Luxury Add-Ons
Toilet seats can be upgraded to make your bathroom experience a little more luxurious. Luxury upgrades include seat heaters, bidet functionality, integrated air dryer and slow closing seats to prevent the seat from slamming down. Jacuzzi's Refresh™ Personal Hygiene System is an easy upgrade to your existing toilet.
