Showering is the ultimate restorative experience. An experience you can have practically any way you like. From the world's leading name in bathroom technology - Jacuzzi®. Bath to shower was a short - and obvious - leap for us. Jacuzzi® showers are endowed with a pedigreed lineage. As the innovator of home bathing technology and of the whirlpool bath, Jacuzzi® products are backed by all the expertise that more than 30 years creating the perfect bathing experience can bring.

Showers are anything but standard these days. They range from prefabricated stalls to spacious custom-built shower systems and come in a wide variety of sizes, materials, shapes and colors.

How to select yours:

Location/Size

The location of your shower will determine the available size and configuration options that are open to you. For spacious bathrooms, the choices are wide open. A luxurious option is a two-person shower with his and hers shower heads.

Where an existing niche (one, two or three-walls) exists in your bathroom space, your shower size has already been determined. In that case, you will be looking for a niche configuration like the Summer Rain™ Niche.

For small bathroom spaces, consider a corner unit that takes up less physical space than a traditional rectangular shower like the Custom Surround Neo-Angle™ Shower System or Summer Rain™ Neo.

Configurations

Who will be using the shower?

The bathtub and shower combination is common where both children and adults must coexist in a smaller bathroom. Prefabricated units come in single or multiple pieces and can be assembled in your home. Alternatively, if you have an existing three-walled niche, your bathroom walls can be tiled and act as the shower surround. Then all you need is to add a shower curtain and some doors.

If one of the persons using the shower is disabled or elderly, consider a low-threshold shower with additional features such as an integral seat and handrails.

Doors

Consider how much space you have before determining whether you want to use a shower door or shower curtain. For small spaces, shower curtains are an inexpensive and easy option. A sliding glass door will add more visual depth to a small bathroom by allowing the user to see beyond the threshold of the shower.

Shower doors can slide, pivot or fold back accordion style. It's important to consider the amount of clearance space your shower door will need to swing freely. Some doors are encased in a metal frame, while others are hinged directly to the shower entrance. Framed doors come in a variety of finishes to match your bathroom décor. Doors may be made of glass or plastic. Glass is heavier and more expensive and has a more luxurious look. Glass doors are made from tempered glass to avoid possible injuries should the glass be broken. There are several additional options for glass doors such as whether you want them to be clear, frosted or patterned. Glass doors require an additional cleaning step every time you shower to avoid becoming spotted with mineral deposits.

Steam

It's fairly easy to add steam to your existing shower. Steam doors are used to completely seal the shower off from the rest of the bathroom to hold the steam in. If you have high ceilings, you can add a steam dome to the top of your shower to hold the steam in. The steam generator can be recessed into the wall, hidden in a cabinet or integral seat. Some showers come equipped with steam such as the Bonaire™ Steam Shower and Sedona™ Steam Shower. Alternatively, you can purchase a steam seat and create a personal steam room. A steam timer allows you to pre-heat your shower or turn off the steam after a set amount of time.

Shower Faucets & Fixtures

Shower faucets come in a variety of configurations. Today's shower heads have multiple settings to fit your needs - from pulsating massage to light spray. Shower heads don't just come out of the wall anymore either - you can find them installed in the ceiling or even as part of the shower column on outward facing showers such as the Summer Rain™ Walk-In. For children or elderly bathers, consider a hand-held shower that mounds on a sliding rod to adjust the height of the spray. Shower panels are easy additions to showers and can provide an instant upgrade to your existing shower system. These panels, like the Summer Rain™ Shower Tower, come with customizable shower heads and body sprays.

Body Sprays

Body sprays often come standard on higher-ticket items but can also be added separately to any shower. The Vectra™ Body Spray System is a fully-configurable body spray system that has adjustable flow nozzles and comes in a variety of finish options.

People rarely have time to take a bath every day but they can always squeeze in a shower. Might as well make it as enjoyable as possible.
