Dear Craig,

I've noticed that my whirlpool tub jets system seems to surge up and down? What could be causing that behavior? What can I check before I have it looked at?Robert

Dear Robert,

There are a few things that you can check for yourself regarding that behavior. First be sure that the unit is plugged into a dedicated isolated circuit and that power is good. It's also possible that the motor may be faulty, but the easiest and quickest way to check is to make sure that the water level is 1 to 2 inches above the highest jet. Also make sure that the larger jets ( when there is no person in the tub ) are pointed away from the suction fitting assembly, this is to verify that the air from the jets is not causing cavitation, the symptom of surging. This is a perceived problem that only occurs when there is no bather in the tub and is a non-issue once a bather is in the tub.
